This is my journal. I can post whatever I like (with some limits from the ToS for LJ), and people don't have to read or comment. If they do, I have the right to delete their comments, even ban them, or simply flame them within an inch of their egos. I do try to lj-cut anything that is too long or TMI.
Personally, I try not to stir up too much shit in someone else's journal. It's not polite. Yes, sometimes I will tell someone I know fairly well that they are being an ass, or need to rethink something. Usually I'll post it in my journal, and let them deal with me here, instead of being rude in someone else's journal.
Now, if I don't know you well enough to tell you when I think you're fucking up, then I probably won't. Even if I did, you'd have no obligation to listen to me anyway.
Communities are a different matter. Depending on the rules of a community, I am quite capable of roasting somebody for stupidity and/or assininity. It's a sport some days - yes, I know I can be a cruel bitch.
