So, my car is a total. I would cost more to repair it than it's worth, by probably twice.

I'm waiting for the annual salary/bonus stuff in April, so hopefully I'll get some money that way. Otherwise, I have to wait for the next stock trading window, and cash in my stock, at a loss (it's trading at less than it was worth when I got it.)

Fuck.

Yes, I could do a jackleg repair, for a couple hundred bucks, but it wouldn't have any collision coverage after that, and it would be a "salvage" title. Yuck. I don't want to go there.

Arggggggggh!

Well, the guy's insurance called me back, took a statement, and arranged to have an estimator look at it tomorrow. Supposedly he's going to make a "determination of liability". A friend from work got some nice pictures, so I have my own, too.

My car's blue book value is only about $2500, so it'll probably be a total. Ugh. So now alongside medical bills (pushing $2000 already this year), I get to save up for a replacement car.

Driving to the train station this morning, I got tagged on my right side door by an old guy in a blue dodge ram. Now I can't open my passenger side door. I'm not inmjured, it was a low speed collision on city streets, but my door is now sprung, and not openable.

My drivers' side door *lock* is fucked up, so I can't open it with a key. Now, if I lock that door, I can't get into the car. A locksmith and some WD 40 later, and my drivers' side lock works.

Edit: got the drivers' side lock fixed, but it turns out that the done light(s) are stuck *ON*. I can't see the fuses in the fuse box to pull the right one. I did remove the bulbs from the two overhead dome lights. A guy from work helped me by looking up the fuse location, and then crawling in and pulling the right fuse.

Additional inspection shows that the door is creased in, the front quarter panel is dented in behind the wheel well, and the lower frame under where the door is is pushed up, and the door is essentially tilted in at the bottom, and wedged by the frame.
