Our other cat, Coalette, had to be put to sleep Wednesday due to stage 5 kidney disease. Her sister, Speckles, died in December of the same thing. I am very sad, since we've lost the two littermates within 6 months of each other. They were both 16.

I'm so sorry for your losses. They leave cat-shaped holes in the heart.

I've lost cats to the same thing. We even did the subcutaneous fluids, renal diet, chicken-flavored aluminum hydroxide antacid, and frequent fresh water to keep them comfortable when they still lived. No matter what, we cried when they went to RB.

They basked in the glow of your love. May you be comforted.
