Gripe: as of today, I have been essentially unemployed for an entire year. The longest temp jobs I've had this year were less than a week, and all paid under $15/hr. My creditors call me daily, and I send out resumes in to a seeming black hole. Even the temp services don't have much - even secretarial work!
Tidbit: Supposedly it's bad luck to throw a hat on to a bed. But even a Google search doesn't give me the origin and meaning of the superstition. Clues?
Gripe: I listened to Bush's speech last night. Although he is getting better on pronouncing some words, his proposal for a department of homeland security filled me with unease. I kept expecting to hear the background "seig HEIL", and Ashcroft to start wearing Himmler type glasses.
Tidbit: The stock market still hasn't had a sustained rally - it keeps losing ground. I worry about where it will hit botttom.
Gripe: I saw a middleaged woman signing (cardboard sign asking for money/help) at the top of a freeway offramp yesterday. There but for luck and the Goddess go I.
I wasn't alive in 1932, why am I getting deja vu??
