Got home last night to a message on the machine from the landlord. Seems the county sent him a postcard demanding that we mow down weeds and stuff before June 10, or they'd do it and send him the bill (think overpaid government union workers).
Now Fuzzy whacked the yard back in April, just before he left town the first time. That should have been fine, but it rained a lot in May. So the fast growing weeds are a foot or so high, and even the smaller ones don't "mow" well. So it's weed whacker time. Unfortunately, the electric ones are too wimpy, and we wore out our previous gas powered one.
Fuzzy won't be back until the 9th, and will be tired and stressed. So he's out of the picture.
We need to whack the yard this weekend. I don't know if I can use a weed whacker with one arm, but I'm gonna try. A backpack type gizmo would work best. I'm heading to Sears (where I have some credit still) to get a gas powered whacker tonight.
Does anyone want to come over this weekend and help
datapard and I attack the jungle? If you do, drop me email (my lj address works) and let me know when and what your food and beverage needs are, so I can have them ready for the BBQ when we're done...

Gma and I need some info from you regarding what you want or can use most for your birthday. Do you have AAA? We were thinking that with only one good arm, it might be nice to have a number to call if you had a flat or something. Gma is excited about your visit. (So is your mother and her husband, but don't tell anyone. LOL)

RE my bday: my present to myself is coming out there, LOL. I'm pretty set on the basics, and I haven't had intense geek lust in a while. I've been doing a lot of crochet lately, and buying nice wool yarn on eBay for real cheap. In fact, I'll be hauling my granny square project with me, since it's small and portable.
