... To approximately $2500. I settled with one of my creditors today, for 80 cents on the dollar still owed. Yaaaaay! I've been paying that bill down (from ~$6,000) for the past year and a half. Now that's $200/month that I'll be able to pay to a different creditor.

Mind you, I'm still ~$36,000 in the hole, with the assholes piling on interest like it was going out of style on one account ($23,000++, when I never had more than $13,000 on the card, including interest.) At this rate, I'll never pay them.

The fact is, the people who I've paid off or down so far have been the ones who treated me fairly, who didn't harass, threaten, or insult me.

So, yeah, I'm pleased.

Good Job! One more down! I know the feeling. You will get it all handled in time. Maybe, if you call them, you can get the other nasty ones to agree to a plan which would stop the interest if you pay something each month.

Seems like everyone either cranks up the interest to 20+ or, when they hear that you want to get rid of the debt, cranks it down to single digits.

But interest on 1 account is soooo much better than interest on 10 accounts. I finished one up last week. Yay! (Only 4 accounts left!)
