*Boing* Well, I've passed the technical hurdles for the job I interviewed for today. I got on well with the three people I'd be working with. Now all they have to do is finalize the paperwork... It's not a done deal yet, but they do need a linux geek soon - the existing people are overloaded.
The job? Tweaking Linux and shaving it down for embedded applications. One of the people I interviewed with is a woman who's been in the unix field longer than I have. Seriously geek cool.
Now off to do a brain suck on the web for embedded stuff.
EDIT: I got it! I start tomorrow!

Permission to pick your brain later ?
Only I'm building a new computer [ok, a new system out of second-hand parts, I can't afford a new-new computer]. My intent is to install Linux instead of Windoze. But about linux I know nothin'!!! [other than it's supposed to be better than M$ evileware.]
A little help at a later date might be needed. But not now. I'm just checking if you're ok with people asking dumb-ass questions.
