The most grievious thing about bifocals is the cost: $310, and that is with 50% off!! But they should look pretty good. The computer ones were $160, but they also are pretty cool in a geeky sort of way. Add $80 for the eye exam, and it turns into a really expensive weekend.

Still, I haven't gone for new glasses in over 6 years, and my distance vision improved a little, and I have no astigmatism. My retinas look fine, too. I guess I can't whine too much - although my cheapskate bone is still whimpering.

Congrats on the great retinas! Gma liked your phone message. She hasn't been clearing her voice mail so gets to enjoy them double. LOL. I now surf fast with dsl and won't miss anymore of Gma's calls. My BP just went down twenty points with that fact. LOLOL I used to view the world through rose colored glasses, literally, but now just have autotint for sun blocking. It stays dark enough to take care of the indoor glare for which the rose tint was formerly specified. Aren't you glad that our eyes don't change much over a year or two? Love ya, Kiddo! I guess the world and me will have to admit that you are actually an adult, or even in middle-age with bifocals. When did I get so old?
