Big fat hairy deal. The networks and the politicians are the ones making the most hay, either in $$ or electioneering, from this "anniversary". We didn't have this type of thing after the Challenger blew up, did we?

This whole thing is taking on a sort of macabre carnival atmosphere. It becomes a spectacle of public "mourning" and "remembrance", designed to whip up anti-"terrorist" (as defined by bush & ashcroft) emotion and "patriotism".

Oh, and don't forget the money. The advertising revenues from all of the network news specials are probably staggering. And I'm sure that all of the ads will be oh so tastefull in a funereal sort of way - while making money off of the event of the sudden deaths of 300+ people.

I will not be watching the boob tube, or listening to the radio, or visiting any syndicated news site on Wednesday. I will not reward the ghouls with my attention to their chestbeating and self aggregandizing rehash of events.

If I post anything "patriotic", it will be in patriotic protest against the Bush government and Ashcroft's calculated denegration of the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. If I mourn anything, it will be the freedoms that we are losing daily, freedoms that Osama Bin Laden despised us for, so Bush, a chickenshit Congress, and Ashcroft are obligingly removing them for him.

Bush, Ashcroft, and Fleisher are Osama's "inside guys" - they think alike, and have the same fanatic agenda - to destroy American freedom and replace it with a theocracy. They only differ in the name of their god, and powers they assign to their prophets.

We have met the enemy, and he is in the White House, set in place by our own court of last resort.

Tell me about it.

I am so sick and tired of the crap. I actually got my ass chewed today because I expressed sympathy for those, like my teenage cousin, who have a birthday on the 11th. Both the memory of what happened AND the fact that this will always be tied to their birthday. The woman absolutely freaked. Good thing I didn't tell her everything that I really think, eh?

My TV won't be on at all Wednesday. I'll be with my family here, then off to Starport to live life fiercely.

That's my idea of patriotism. Defying terror.
