Jesse Helms is one old racist, sexist and homophobic bigot who won't be missed, except maybe by his closest kin and those of like mind.

I hated him while he lived, and the only good words I have to say now is that he's dead. If his religion's heaven exists, he won't get in. Jesus of Nazareth would have kicked his ass.

He had too much influence for far too long, and it will take decades to undo the damage his poison has wrought on this nation.
