Two American Johns... ;-)
The radio station I listen to on the way home turned over for the Edwards speech last night, and the Kerry speech tonight. So I now have heard both of their voices. I like Edwards better, but Kerry did manage to deliver a civil and nicely inter-tied speech. His is definitely the voice of a person who'd "been there, done that" and is cagey about what they say for fear of spooking the innocent - a veteran who isn't wallowing in it, but learning from it. Massachusetts culture with plain english, no hokey corn pone, and written to be short and sweet.
So, bearing in mind that speeches like this are puffed out anyway, and applying the 90% rule, I am fairly satisfied.
