I talked to my mom this evening. Grandma probably won't make it, according to mom. A shunt in her kidney, transfusions because of erratic cotting and bleeding, fluid build up around her lungs. She's still in the hospital.
My mother would end up as the executor of grandma's small estate. My mom can't manage her *own* money - she lives in too much of a fantasy land. I don't expect anything to be "left", because my grandma isn't rich, and my mom will lose what she has (mostly property) due to bad decisions.
She told me that she wouldn't be upset if I didn't make it to any memorial they have when grandma passes. I told her I'd hit my sister or my father up for the cash. I would want to be there to see that mom's step kids didn't scrape the trailer bare before my sister had chance to get keepsakes for her kids.
Besides, she's my last living grandma, and closer to me than my mother in a way. I understand grandma, and the pride that keeps her from admitting it to mom when she has problems or pain. Mom isn't clued enough to get around it.
