It's after 9 pm, and I'm still at work, finishing up stuff before I leave on vacation. This does, however, prove that I learned from the last time not to attempt to leave for vacation straight from work - it always gets fubar'ed by work. Thank the gods I'm not salary.

BTW, I'll be out of pocket until next monday, probably, although I might try to make a few entries from the conference.

Tonight they changed the San Diego vs Miami NFL football game from the stadium in San Diego because of the fires. Our TV is reporting many roads closed. Will this affect you? I hope not, but please be very careful. Your vehicle carries extremely precious cargo and you don't look good in soot. Now I wish I had kipped an old set of bunker gear for you. From other posts it sounds as if an SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) would be a good thing to pack for this foray.

I'll be praying for a safe and easy journey and a fun conference for you. Know that you are loved and that G'ma called tonight just to ask me if you were in any danger from the fires. I told her no, that you lived way north of them. (Now, how do I explain that you have your parents' faith in your ability to get wherever you need to be in spite of whatever nature throws your way, and that you are heading toward the fires for a vacation? *grin* Have fun and be careful too.)
