A kitten curls contentedly on a pillow. Yawning sleepily, she emits little thought balloons:
"Well, yesterday went OK anyway. The people at the office finally remembered about 5 pm, and lunch was delayed until Friday."
"I had a nice mellow evening at home, complete with a bunch of carnations from my roomie. I talked to both my mom and my sister on the phone. My niece is 8!!"
"The night was slightly spoiled by the nasty sinus headache that I took to bed and tried to sleep through. So I'm tired today."
With that the kitten puts down her head and surrenders to sleep.
