Hey elorie asshat!

[livejournal.com profile] elorie, you are a chickenshit. Fine, you own [livejournal.com profile] note_to_asshat. You are free to post all kinds of abuse of members of other communities (like [livejournal.com profile] childfree) and then not allow them to respond. It's your little empire, after all. I just think you are so fucking lame, you can dish it out but can't take it in.

But don't fucking assume that we all have the same motive for wanting to join your little community. Some of us just wanted to be able to post notes to asshats. I thought it was a cool concept, and a couple of my friends were already there.

If you can be bothered to read my journal, you see that I encounter a lot of asshats. Only a few of those asshats involve children, or, more correctly, their lazy assed parents who don't know when it just fucking isn't appropriate to take a small child to certain types of (boring for the kid) events. You know, like bars, gory movies, R and X rated movies, nightclubs, business meetings, academic conferences (except those on child development), construction zones, hazardous or crowded environments, etc. Just like CF people don't belong in Chuck-E-Cheeses, or pregnant women don't belong in certain portions of a wafer fab, there are just places kids don't belong.

Hell, my friends with kids would never take their small kids into business conferences, gory movies, bars or crap like that. They actually care about their kids, and don't want to subject them to crushing boredom, risk of serious nightmares, risk of getting hurt, or the irritation of being told to shut up every 5 minutes. They actually parent their kids, what a concept! They care about their kids and other people too!

So, [livejournal.com profile] elorie, you make generalizations about people, applying your own little bigotries and stereotypes, and you *will* get lambasted and mocked in the communities that you stereotype *and* in the journals of the people you piss off. You didn't want drama and wank? Then why in the living fuck did you start it, chickenshit?

EDIT: What's worse is that the lame twit is part of the internet pagan community. Sad. You'd think she'd know better than to start throwing around stereotypes about alternate lifestyles and choices. What an idiot. The peabrain has the nerve to call me an asshat because I don't like ill behaved kids in places where they don't belong and chose not to have kids of my own. If it wasn't so pathetic, I'd be laughing at the irony. I bet she doesn't have the balls to post outside of anywhere that she isn't lord and master over, and take her medicine.

You will notice, folks, that this entry is public, and allows comments by (nearly) all LJ users. I've only ever totally banned one user from my journal, and that was a known troll.

Judgmental

I would think that being moved by the Spirit to create such a community as "note to asshat" would indicate at least some level of intolerance or black and white thinking.

*grin* I went back and skimmed the post. She's missing out on opportunity for creative fun IMHO....

I think the word "judgmental" has gotten a bum rap in recent decades. Some people need to be judged, and harshly. When this happens, I find it much more refreshing (and entertaining) than "We're all brothers and sisters and...<deep bong hit> we should LURRRRRVE each other!!!"

Well, we're in violent agreement about the fluffybunnyness.

Y'know, I've been a member of that community since it started. I've just left it.

I'm pretty-much indifferent about [livejournal.com profile] childfree. A lot of the content posted there is over the top, for my taste, but rather than bitch about it, I simply don't read it.

But teh drama! If she wants to ban folks based upon their membership in other communities it's her prerogative. But the incessant ranting about it, both in the comm and her personal journal strikes me as immature and highschoolish.

Of course, you could always start a community with a similar purpose....

[identity profile] ravan.livejournal.com 2006-02-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, someone else did: [livejournal.com profile] note2asshat. Also, I joined [livejournal.com profile] note_to_gods. Cool stuff, IMO. Too bad the mod on the other got her panties in a bunch ovder a lifestyle choice.

RE: [livejournal.com profile] childfree - some of the stuff posted there is assinine by my taste too, but since in part it's a rant community, I don't get too bent about it. Sometimes it's plain amusing. ;-) [livejournal.com profile] childfree30plus is a bit more mature...

Now I need a drama llama type icon...

Oops, these aren't icons, they're images. But still, enjoy.

Hmmmm, I think the first one might work perfectly if I just trim the "of the apocalypse" part off... Do I credit you?

[identity profile] dances-withcats.livejournal.com 2006-02-28 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't have to credit me unless you take the whole image and use it somewhere. If you want to trim it and manipulate it, do so with my blessing. :-)

When I saved the images, I appended your username, so I don't forget.

Regarding the recent Note to Asshat wank

[identity profile] evilwildlex.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, I'm Lex. One of the co-maintainers of Note_to_asshat. I'd just like to apologize for the wank that ensued while I was absent. I think that the term "cuntbunny" is a tasteless thing to call a little girl, even if you were annoyed, but I think Elorie's behaviour was worse.

For the record, Elorie's paganism isn't fluffbunny-esque, from what I've seen her post about her faith. We don't have each other's LJs friended, and have really only talked when replying to the odd note_to_asshat post, or discussing the comm, so I can't make much more judgement other than what I've seen. She over-generalized based on some of the things she has seen CF people say...I don't blame her for being cautious, because honestly, some of the things CF people say are just as hateful as racial slurs, but I disagree with not letting people join the comm simply because they're a member of one she disagrees with.

Essentially, sorry this got as blown out of proportion as it did. If I'd been around when the wank initially started, I might have been able to put a cap on it.

One of the comments that I made in the childfree post that was crossposted is that childfree slang/epithets weren't appropriate in a non-CF community. Many of them are not funny, just tasteless, and I'm childfree. If elorie hadn't deleted the post, the original poster was going to rewrite the post to use more normal terms. I advocated it.

The thing that pissed me off was the knee jerking.

Ah, okay. Like I said, I wasn't there when the problem errupted. Someone remaining on the community who is also CF posted something to say that very thing - that language which is acceptable on CF communities is unlikely to be well received on others. Actually, I have to applaud that member. They commented on the issue in verse before interjecting a more serious two cents in below. :)
