I have a lot of little dinky checks to write, either this week or in two weeks. Like to Bill's memorial fund, the EFF, my payable bills, my car repairs...
Let's face it, *I* was getting worried about me, and my roomies. March was the last month I had rent for, and then only because friends helped me out with medical costs. (Many thanks to those friends... you know who you are... )
I won't get out of poverty mode thinking for at least six months, I think. I'm taking care of the special stuff while I can, in my mind. It'll be at least a year, at this rate, before I can start building reserves again.
FYI, when I got laid off in 2001, I had ~ 2K in the bank, as savings. My bills were current, or even ahead, and my credit rating was great. All of that is toast. It will take about 5 years to recover.

Believe me, you've my sympathy. However, as I commented above: You're out of the flat spin and the stall. Now you can start regaining altitude again.
It isn't pretty, it isn't pleasant, and it isn't easy. Then again, you're the last person in the world I would think of reminding that life isn't fair. ;)
Credit ratings and bank accounts can heal, given time and sufficient income. I'm glad you appear to have both, again, now.

I'd be surprised if it wouldn't, given that you've been unemployed and without income for so long.
Point is, you've gotten out of the flat spin, no longer in a stall, and beginning to climb back up and gain altitude.
