Dredging for Gold

In resume's, that is. I am astounded at a) how many people can't handle basic singular/plural and tense (trainings, experiences, present instead of past for old jobs), b) how many people have long resumes that say little, and c) how many apparently senior people will apply for a fairly junior job, even though they are currently working in their field. The female to male ratio is a bit dissapointing, too. For a Craigslist advertised job, only two out of 26 seem to be female.

I'm so glad I'm not in recruiting, my eyes would bleed.

If it weren't for Linux, I'd be pinging [livejournal.com profile] blackfyr for this one.

Yeah. He needs to get some mixed environment time. Our primary is Linux , but everyone also has a winders box, and the admin types only have winders.

My work has all been in Windows & Mac with some ability to mouse around BSD and look at things (if someone will tell me where the things I'm looking for are). If that sounds like something that can be worked with, my resume is available (in multiple formats) here (http://www.twoburrens.com/resume/).

I don't do Linux, sadly, just Solaris and HP-UX. I can still send you my resume if you like.

Close enough. Just don't want 'doze only, but the position is primarily supporting 'doze users and a little light linux and mac admin. RHEL 3 is actually pretty close to Solaris.

So send it...
