Hist-ory!

So, I have a large uterine fibroid, and an ovarian cyst. It's made my last few periods *worse* than usual. Two weeks ago I was cramping and flooding for two days straight.

I had my consult today about what to do about it. There are partial measures that might solve the problem, but it could re-occur. So I'm having a historectomy by laparoscope on Nov 16, and the pre-op is Nov 8. The bad thing is that the doc insists that it will be 6 weeks before I can return to work. Merry Christmas to me!

The best thing? Even though the clinic also did fertility and stuff, No Bingo! Zero, zilch, zip.

I hope to have my tampon burning party in December... ;-)

It's really for the best. My shield sister was plagued with fibroids for several years. Finally did the hysterectomy this spring, and has been problem free since. Kind of drastic, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope all goes well. May Frigge and Eir watch over you.
