Being disabled does not give you the right to use your family and friends as personal slaves.

Amen. That's the big reason I try to be as independent as I can be. So, my hubby sets things up for me and I do the rest. Much less work!

Family and friends can be a great help. They can be supportive. They shouldn't be run ragged doing everything. Eventually they will become too tired or overwhelmed to provide any help. Treating them as slaves is going to be counterproductive at best.

I have been so used to being the caregiver. It's a wrench to be the one needing care.
